Sr. Mary Gabriel, S.V.: The Sisters of Life is a religious community of women consecrated by a fourth vow to protect and enhance the sacredness of human life. With prayer as the basis of their works, the Sisters proclaim the dignity of the human person, protect those who are most vulnerable to abortion and help to heal those who have been hurt by the culture of death. Based in New York, the community, founded in 1991 by John Cardinal O’Connor, numbers 65 Sisters and has seven mission houses. Sr. Mary Gabriel, SV, has been a member of the community since 1999 and is currently missioned as vocations director. |
